REBECCA AND DANIEL

How did you two meet?

We met on a hen do we were both attending at Secret Garden Party festival. The then-hen was a long-term friend of Daniels and a more recent friend of mine which explains how our paths had never crossed before that moment. I remember thinking 'what guy comes to an all-girl hen party', but it seemed to work out pretty well for both of us as the first night ended with a secret kiss and me hoping the hen hadn't spotted us. We turned around to the whole group cheering for us. Oops!

NOTES FROM THE BRIDE & GROOM

When searching for your Wedding venue what was most important to you?

Both growing up in fairly rural areas, we knew we wanted a garden/countryside feel for our reception venue. We moved to Chislehurst in July 2018 and love the access to the woodlands surrounding our home. We spend as much time as we can wandering outdoors through the trees so this sort of feel was important to us.

Why did you choose your venue?

The second we got out of the car at The Beacon and looked out over 'Happy Valley' I knew we couldn't find anywhere else more perfect. We also loved that all the food served at The Beacon is locally sourced and grown. I love that it sits on Tea Garden Lane. So whimsical, and I do love a cup of tea!

Talk us through your day?

Hair and makeup started early so all my bridesmaids stayed over the night before the wedding. We all woke up together bright and early. My mum arrived early morning as well. Through the morning the groomsmen delivered a little gift from Daniel and Frances our photographer arrived along with our flowers. The morning was full of hustle and bustle but still very relaxed and calm. I felt completely at ease even with the flock of butterflies in my tummy.

My dad arrived as our vintage Mustage did, ready for heading to the church. The bridesmaids and my mum went in one car and me and dad shared a small glass of bubbles together before getting in the car, bang on schedule. I didn't want to be late, except in the excitement I forgot my bouquet so we got to the church and drove right past, luckily we don't live far from the church so it was a quick pit stop to collect my beautiful flowers, making me just a few minutes late.

The ceremony was beautiful and lasted around an hour, we had readings from my mum, Daniels sister and one of our bridesmaids. Our siblings witnessed the marriage and then we all gathered outside the church for a few family pictures and confetti throwing. Our friends had organised for the church bells to ring as we left which was a very special moment for us.

We then drove 45 minutes to The Beacon. Even in the rain, it looked picture perfect. The team greeted us with umbrellas and more bubbles and we spent the welcome reception being wowed by Adam the magician and enjoying super tasty bites and glasses of bubbles that never seemed to get empty. The room buzzed with laughter and happy energy.

Next, we headed down to the magnificent pavilion for speeches and food and a few games. Everything flowed perfectly, even with a 45 minute speech from my new husband!! I couldn't have asked for more, the attention of the team and the quality of the food, drinks and service was outstanding.

After everyone was full we grabbed a moment between downpours for some photos in the beautiful gardens and then headed up to the basement where the band and photobooth had set up. We cut our cake and then shared our first dance. Followed by a dance with my dad. I didn't want the day to end. Thank you to everyone at The Beacon who made it so perfect for us.

BEST PARTS OF THE DAY

It’s so hard to pick one moment. I loved spending the morning with my girls and mum, then the moment my dad saw me, and when I first clapped eyes on Daniel waiting at the end of the aisle. Our vows. The moment we heard the church bells ringing after the ceremony. The speeches. The flowers. The food. The magic. All the friends and family that made the effort to be there with us. The endless smiles, laughter and energy. The overwhelming feeling of love that surrounded us the entire day. I could go on, and it’s a complete cliché, but it truly was the best day of our lives.
